Amplify Tablet
Rethinking classroom learning through a teacher–student tablet experience
A cross-continental collaboration to design in-class tablet software that empowers teachers to manage classrooms and personalise learning, based on real research with educators and students.
Dual interface overview: teacher dashboard alongside student learning interface.
Key challenges
Designing for dual users: The product needed to serve both teachers and students simultaneously. We created tailored experiences for each while keeping the system consistent and easy to navigate.
Teacher and student interface wireframes side by side.
Low-distraction interfaces: Classroom environments are dynamic and often noisy. We focused on visual clarity, minimal cognitive load, and intuitive transitions to avoid adding complexity.
Distributed design team: As the only designer in Brazil, I learned to work asynchronously, document clearly, and communicate intent in a way that survived time zone gaps.
Impact
- Created foundational classroom flows that powered live pilot programs in US schools
- Delivered research-validated prototypes that informed final UI decisions across teacher and student experiences
- Strengthened remote collaboration across continents through structured rituals and shared ownership
The Amplify Tablet was a forward-thinking blend of pedagogy and technology, and this project remains one of my most formative experiences in education, research, and collaborative design.
